A controversial road name which has caused uproar among snowflake homeowners is to have its signs reinstated after a near 10 year battle. The two road signs for Slag Lane, in Westbury, Wiltshire, disappeared more than five years ago with it being suggested offended 'woke' residents had torn them down. The battle to change the name of the road has raged since 2014 when the town council refused to change it to the more palatable 'Lakeside View'. Wiltshire council says it has now ordered new signage for the road and they will be installed in early 2024.

It also has the road names Wilsford Cum Lake close to Salisbury, Cuckoo's Knob near Marlborough and Twatley in Malmesbury.
Wiltshire Council said: 'It was taken forward to be resolved under local highways maintenance. 'The new signs were ordered immediately after the meeting. We hope the new signs will be installed early in the new year.' GoogleWoke Culture
